We believe your data belongs to you. That’s why we’re excited to announce our new Export Your Data feature, giving you complete control over your cycling information stored with Party Onbici.
Why Data Portability Matters
As cyclists, we accumulate valuable information about our rides—routes we’ve discovered, elevation we’ve conquered, incidents we’ve reported to help fellow riders, and the communities we’ve built. This data tells the story of your cycling journey, and you should always have access to it.
Our new export feature supports your right to data portability as outlined in privacy regulations like GDPR (Europe), LGPD (Brazil), and Australian Privacy Principles. But beyond compliance, we simply believe it’s the right thing to do.
What You Can Export
When you request an export, you can choose exactly what to include:
Profile & Consent Data
Your account information, privacy settings, and consent records—all documented transparently so you know exactly what you’ve agreed to.
Ride Records & GPS Tracks
Every ride you’ve recorded with Party Onbici, including:
- Distance, duration, and speed statistics
- Elevation gain and loss
- Start and end locations
- GPX files for each ride, compatible with Strava, Garmin Connect, Komoot, and other cycling apps
Parties & Routes
All the group rides you’ve organised or joined, complete with:
- Route details and schedules
- GPX route files you can use in your favourite navigation app
- Event descriptions and participant counts
Incident Reports
Safety matters. Export all the hazards and incidents you’ve reported to help make roads safer for everyone.
Media Files
Your profile picture and any images you’ve uploaded with incident reports.
How It Works
- Navigate to Settings → Privacy & Data → Export Your Data
- Select what to include using the category checkboxes
- Click “Request Export” and we’ll start preparing your data
- Receive an email when your export is ready (usually within a few minutes)
- Download your ZIP file containing CSV files and GPX tracks
Your export will be available for 30 days before it expires. Need another copy? You can request a new export after 24 hours.
Portable Formats
We export your data in open, portable formats:
- CSV files for tabular data (profile, rides summary, incidents)—opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app
- GPX files for GPS tracks and routes—the universal standard supported by virtually every cycling and mapping application
No proprietary formats. No vendor lock-in. Just your data, ready to use anywhere.
Privacy & Security
Your export is encrypted during transit and at rest. Only you can access the download link, which expires after 30 days. We don’t share your exported data with any third parties.
