This is our biggest release yet. Party Onbici 2.0 rebuilds the group-ride experience from the wheels up, adds the world’s bike parking to the map, and brings Live Activities, a notification center, and a long list of polish across iOS and Android.
If you’ve used the app before, the first thing you’ll notice is that group rides finally feel like group rides — your friends are right there on the map, with profile photos, off-screen arrows when they leave view, and toasts whenever they join, leave, or send a message. If you’re new, this is the version we’ve been waiting to ship.
Here’s what landed.
🚴 Group rides, reimagined
The biggest change in 2.0 is how parties work on the map.
- Find parties signed in or signed out. Open the app cold and you’ll see nearby parties right on the map. No login wall before discovery.
- Larger rider markers with profile photos. Easier to tell who’s who at a glance — especially in a 20-rider peloton.
- Off-screen indicators. When a teammate rides off the edge of your view, an arrow on the screen edge points to them with their avatar.
- Turn-by-turn navigation, built in. Navigation is now part of the live-ride map itself, not a separate screen — keep your route, your party, and your speed in one place.
- Embedded weather widget. Conditions at your current location, right on the ride map.
- Automatic ride recording with arrival detection. Start riding and we’ll start recording; arrive and we’ll stop. No more forgetting to hit “record.”
- Share your live view with anyone. A read-only link that lets friends and family follow along — no app install required.
- Instant join/leave notifications. Real-time toasts when someone joins or drops out of the party.
- Message toasts with profile pics. In-ride chat now shows who’s talking.

🅿️ Bike parking unleashed
We’ve put over 300,000 bike parking spots on the map.
- Native clustering keeps things smooth at every zoom level — pan and zoom across a city without the app stuttering.
- Live during rides. Parking spots update as you ride, so when you arrive at a destination the nearest racks are already on screen.
- We’re pulling from an ever-growing list of open data sources. (More cities incoming — let us know if yours is missing.)

🔔 Notification center
Every notification the app sends now lives in one place.
- Persistent in-app history so you never miss a thing — including the alerts that arrived while you were offline.
- Dedicated weather and cycling-conditions categories. Filter to just what matters to you.
- Tap any toast in the app to jump straight into the center.
🗺️ Localized map labels
Map names and points of interest now respect your app language. If you’ve set Party Onbici to Japanese, your map labels render in Japanese. Same for the other 19 languages we support.
📍 Saved routes & locations
We’ve leaned into the “save it, find it later” pattern.
- Nearby route discovery — see routes other riders have saved near you.
- Waypoint support on shared routes. Multi-stop routes you share with friends now keep every stop intact.
- Swipe-to-delete saved spots. Quick to tidy up the list.
- Per-ride three-dot menu with view / export / delete on every ride in your history.
📲 Sign in with Apple, Microsoft, and Google
Three first-class social-login options. Sign in with Apple (with private-relay email support), Microsoft (work or personal accounts), and Google — useful if your organization mandates one of them, or you just want fewer passwords.
⏱️ Widget refresh + Live Activities
- Brand-green gradients restored on iOS widgets — they’re back to looking the way they should.
- Lock-screen Live Activity for active rides. Glance at your phone mid-ride to see your live speed, distance, and duration without unlocking.
- Adaptive layouts so widgets look right at every size — small, medium, large, and the lock-screen formats.
Single-stat widgets for the small slot — pick the number that matters to you on the home screen:
A medium-size widget for the destinations you save:
And on iOS, the lock-screen Live Activity keeps your ride at a glance:
📤 Full data export
You can now export everything — your rides, your saved routes, your saved locations, your settings. One tap, one file. We’ve always taken the position that your data is yours; this release makes it portable.
⚡ Faster, smoother, sturdier
Under the hood, 2.0 ships a long list of performance, accessibility, and stability work:
- WCAG Level AA accessibility compliance across the app.
- Automatic data retention enforcement — rides and traces age out on a schedule you control.
- Age verification standardized at 16+ across every component, in line with our COPPA compliance.
- Fewer crashes, faster startup, and tighter memory use across both platforms.
Update now
2.0.0 is rolling out on both stores today.
