Nothing ruins a group ride faster than unexpected weather. That’s why we’ve integrated real-time weather forecasts directly into Party Onbici - so you can plan your ride with confidence.

Weather at Your Fingertips

Every scheduled group ride now shows a comprehensive weather forecast including:

Temperature and “feels like” at departure time
Rain probability so you know whether to pack a jacket
Wind speed and direction - crucial for cyclists!
UV index with sun protection recommendations
Humidity levels for those hot summer rides

Weather Along Your Route

For longer rides, weather can change significantly between your starting point and destination. Our Weather Along Route feature shows you conditions at multiple points along your journey:

Weather at the start of your ride
Conditions at waypoints along the route
Forecast for your destination arrival time

This is especially valuable for rides that cross different terrain or take several hours.

Severe Weather Alerts

Safety comes first. When severe weather is forecast for your ride area, you’ll see prominent alerts warning of:

Heat warnings with UV protection advice
Storm alerts for thunderstorms in the area
High wind warnings that may affect cycling safety
Heavy rain alerts that could make roads hazardous

We use Microsoft’s Azure Maps Weather Service to provide accurate, hyperlocal weather data. The service provides:

Hourly forecasts up to 10 days in advance
Route weather with conditions along your path
Cycling-specific indices tailored for outdoor activities
Real-time severe weather alerts from local meteorological services

How to Use It

Weather forecasts appear automatically on any group ride with a scheduled date. Simply:

Open a party or group ride
Look for the Weather Forecast section
Review conditions and decide if you’re ready to ride!

The forecast is most accurate for rides scheduled within the next 5 days, with general trends available up to 10 days ahead.

Make Better Decisions

With weather data at your fingertips, you can:

Dress appropriately - layers for cold mornings, sunscreen for UV
Adjust timing - start earlier to avoid afternoon heat
